The Beautiful Westjet Boeing 737-700

Preface:
This FS9 (2004) Boeing 737-700 FREEWARE programme was modelled by Mike Adamo and Erick Cantu assisted by Fraser Turner in association with Kittyhawk Studios.   The textures were performed by Erick Cantu, the Flight Dynamics by Shawn Anderson with technical assitance by Adam Stanger.   This aircraft bears Copyright ©2004 Mike Adamo (mike_online@shaw.ca), All rights reserved. We have done everything within our power to give credit, where credit is due.

Overview by Robert Cezar:
The crew at Kittyhawk Studios wrote this: "There is a special quality to freeware aircraft that no payware designer can ever possess. The flight simulator community you see today, with its hubs at Avsim.Com and FlightSim.Com, was built exclusively by the hard work of freeware designers. Unfortunately in a world where physical wealth is worth more than pride or accomplishment, dedicated freeware is becoming rare. It is, therefore, our pledge to provide you with aircraft that will consistently beat any payware aircraft in terms of accuracy, and to provide ongoing support for those aircraft, with no charge to you whatsoever. The best things in life have always been free."

Installation:
The installation process has been broken down into two areas:

  • The Aircraft
  • The Panel

The Aircraft:
This is pretty straightforward.   Simply download THIS ZIP FILE (3.59M) and UNZIP it into your FS9 ROOT\Aircraft folder. (e.g., the normal installation path would look like...)

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\
At this point, you should have a beautifully functional Westjet Airlines "James Bond" Boeing 737-700, that you can select from the Boeing section of your simulator's "Select Aircraft" panel.

The Panel:

WestJet

WestJet"

Panel

Author Targan wrote:

"This panel was rearranged from existing panels.   The background bitmap is based on a real panel picture.   All of the main gauges (throttle quadrant, radio stack, overhead panel) are displayed on the main panel. Landing, taxi, logo, panel, strobe, bcn and nav light switches, pitot heat, yaw damper, wing ice, oil temp and exhaust gas temp gauges, no smoking and seatbelt switches, auto start and engine start buttons can all be viewed on the overhead panel that is above the main panel.   Credit goes to Fabrizio Berretta and Paul Golding for some of the gauges."

Installation:

Download THIS ZIP FILE (5.94M) and UNZIP it into a temporary folder. Extract the files and follow the simple installation instructions.

Have a nice flight...
