Eric Cantu's EMB-120!

Preface:
This is the freeware Embraer 120 model by Erick Cantu. It comes with the Embraer Factory colors as well as Delta Connection. The plane features all the usual animations, outstanding attention to detail, and like all of Erick's models, is very easy on the frame rates.

We Can't Find Eric!
We have been trying everything we can think of to track down Eric Cantu. We want to get his permission to load the EMB-120 ZIP file on our servers to make it easier for our IYP users to download this marvelous aircraft. So far, regrettably we've had no luck in finding him. If anyone has a contact e-mail or phone number for Eric, please let us know.

Installing the EMB-120!

Until such time as we can reach Eric, please go to Avsim.com select   File Library, and search for:

    emb120-2.zip
Download the ZIP file and follow the simply installation instructions.

The Use of Subclassing:

Since many of the panel switches, knobs and dials are not directly related to the Simulator per se, (e.g., No Smoking, Seat Belts, etc.), IYP needs a way to operate these functions. The only effective way of achieving this is to utilise a technological approach called... Subclassing.

What is Subclassing?

In effect, what happens with Subclassing is that the IYP application actually "clicks" the switches on the various panels when the user issues a voice command.   By definition, a panel needs to have the "focus", meaning that the IYP programme needs to "open" the panel and bring it to the foreground, so that the "click" can be perfected.

Programmatically bringing panels into "focus" can be a tad alarming if you're not expecting it!   So, that's why I'm explaining its operation! LOL

You say, "Preflight Checklist" and the Throttle Quadrant POPS-UP! Don't be alarmed; it's merely IYP maintaining "focus" on the windows (panels) that it needs to operate.

Why the Change?

As it is with all other forms of change,

    "One man's feature, is another man's nightmare!"

So, for those of you who preferred the old way of doing things, you can disable the Subclassing feature by removing the "check" in the Pop Ups Checkbox on the IYP Control Panel.
