Michelle Co-Pilots the DHC2 Beaver Amphibian!

A Little History
In August 1947, with Wing Commander (Ret.) Russ Bannock, one of Canada's best-known WWII pilots, flew the prototype Beaver on its maiden flight. Bannock took the lead in selling a large number of Beavers to the US Army and Air Force. Well over half of all the Beavers built by de Havilland were exported to the US post war. Russ Bannock subsequently became the President and CEO of de Havilland, Canada. The original aircraft seated six, but as civil certification was obtained in March of 1948, the seating capacity was increased to a maximum of eight. The protoype aircraft was later sold and bears the initials of de Havilland's engineer Fred Buller in its registration number: CF-FHB. This plane is now on display at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa, Canada.

Try Out The DHC-2 Amphibian!
Regrettably, the DHC-2 Amphibian is only available in the FSX series; NOT is FS9 (2004). If you have FSX, then take this lovely aircraft out for a spin. Go to: and click on the De Havilland DHC-2 Amphibian Beaver under the FSX section. Print out the checklists (which also includes all of the things you need to say and do), then take to the skies!

Where Are Those Water Landing Strips?
This may sound like a simple question. However, have you ever tried to find a water landing strip in FSX? Hmmmmm...

Perhaps this will get you started. Click HERE !

Would you like to add some other water areas to the list?

Send me all of the pertinent information and I'll stick them in the database!

I hope you find this information helpful.

Wishing you safe landings,
