Much to our satisfaction, the interest in, and excitement for It's Your Plane (IYP) continues
to mount. More and more people are starting to
COMPARE THE DIFFERENCES.
We know that if you compare It's Your Plane to so-called competitors, you'll quickly see that there simply is...
NO COMPARISON!
As you certainly know by now, we ALWAYS listen to the suggestions and recommendations of our
It's Your Plane (IYP) users. We are under the firm belief that any development group who is under the
delusion that they know what the market wants and/or needs, is sorely mistaken.
It has been proven time after time, that USERS KNOW BEST!
With that obvious observation behind us, here are two of the latest requests:

As advertised on FlightSim and other sites!

Existing Cabin Music
As you know, It's Your Plane has always had Cabin Music; music that is played
to the passengers to entertain them during pre-flight, taxiing for takeoff,
taxiing to the gate after landing, and until they depart the aircraft. The IYP application
automatically knows when to turn this music on and off during the various stages of the flight.
This Cabin Music is played at a relatively low-level... after all, the Cockpit Crew cannot
really hear it that well with the cockpit door closed.
New Cockpit Music
Cockpit Music on the other hand, is that which is played in the cockpit,
solely as enjoyment for the Cockpit Crew... namely, the Captain and Michelle / Mike.
This music is nominally played at a considerably higher sound level than the previously mentioned
Cabin Music, although it does have its own Sound Level Control. (see image below)
This new feature is also helpful when you are flying a long route. For example, if you
are flying one of my Tours Around The World in our Baron 58, there are legs
( e.g., Reno, Nevada to Walla Walla, Washington ) that can get BORING!!! So, now
you can simply say, "My Music On" to ease the passage of time. Naturally, you
are still able to communicate with ATC, and Michelle will still jump in from time to time with
information about the Tour ( e.g., what city, lake, river, etc., you are passing over, how far you've
travelled, how many miles to the next waypoint or city, etc. ) on top of Your Music.
It's all very logical and comfortable!

Cabin Music Files
The IYP application as of Version 3.1.4.040 creates a new folder under the existing
Sound folder called MyMusic. e.g.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\Sound\MyMusic\
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\Sound\MyMusic\
All you need do is place as many MP3 files in this folder as you'd like, then say:
"My Music On", to turn the Cockpit Music on, and
"My Music Off", to turn the Cockpit Music off.
Cockpit Music Shuffled and Repeated
The Cockpit Music is played on a random basis. It will basically do what any normal MP3
player will do when you have selected both Shuffle and Repeat options.
Namely, the application will play all of the files in a random order until ALL music within the
MyMusic folder has been played, then reset the process and start all over in a different order,
ad infinitum, or until you say, "My Music OFF", or close the application.

I Keep Forgetting to Start ACARS!
As you know, if you have loaded an IFR or VFR Flight Plan, then when the IYP application
starts up, Michelle will say, "You may wish to start ACARS Logging" as a reminder.
Even with this reminder, sometimes a user will get side-tracked and forget to start their
ACARS Logging.
Automatic ACARS Logging!
If you place a checkmark in the Auto ACARS option box on the IYP Control Panel
(see the panel below), then when
the IYP application starts up and finds a properly formed IFR or VFR Flight Plan loaded,
Michelle will say, "ACARS Logging has been started."
|

|
Auto ACARS Remembered
The Auto ACARS setting is "remembered". i.e., The IYP application will retain the setting
on subsequent launches of the program.
I trust you'll find these two new features enjoyable and helpful.
