Operating It's Your Plane Across a Network!
|
Robert, thank you for being so receptive and open minded to user suggestions.
Many software developers today seem to adopt the "My way or the Highway"
mentality, and although I understand that some user suggestions may not
be practical, viable, or appropriate for the software, it's refreshing to see that
you're always open to new ideas. Thank you! - Mark - Etobicoke, Canada

There are a number of reasons why you may wish the have a dedicated computer running your Simulator, and another computer
running support applications. However, one main reason comes to mind with respect to the operation of It's Your Plane:
The personal computer that operates your simulator is, at the best of times (how can I say this nicely?), sloowwww!
Thus, adding the overhead of It's Your Plane (actually the Speech Recognition and Test-To-Speech engine), slows things down even more!
"It would be really nice if I could install the IYP application on another machine."
I concurred! The result is found in Version 3.1.4.070 and beyond.
- Pete Dowson's WideFS - You can get it HERE.
- Your Private Network Setup - You'll find a great document HERE.
If you require any assistance setting things up, I suggest that you go to
Pete Dowson's Forum... you'll find a lot of fellows there who are anxious to help.
For those of you who have been asking for this, I sincerely hope you find it useful.
