Introducing a New It's Your Plane Website!

After substantial feedback from IYP users... finally it's online!

Why The Changes?

Quite aside from the fact that the IYP site was getting stale and more difficult to manage, we were also driven in particular by our blind and visually impaired pilots who were experiencing great difficulties navigating the site due to the use of framesets. We hope that this new site will make things far easier for them.

We Stole the Basic Design from Our SuperATC Website!…
As most of you know, we are currently offering the SuperATC portion of our powerful It's Your Plane application, FREE to the general public. We have done this with the hope that this will assist people who are trying to learn the complex world of ATC communications.

IYP Registered Users - Remember SuperATC is Built into IYP

SuperATC is an already "BUILT-IN" feature of the IYP application as of Version 4.1.0.136. So don't try to install SuperATC... simply use the SuperATC Website for documentation purposes.

If you're one of the many IYP users who are (or would be) interested in learning more about the proper way to communicate with air traffic controllers, then please give SuperATC a try. We would very much appreciate your participation in the SuperATC forum:

As of version 4.1.0.136, you can now select SuperATC from the ATC dropdown box on the IYP Control Panel. If not already done, the IYP application will need to create a Local Airport database which will take a few minutes.

Recent Real-World Events Highlight It's Your Plane Feature!

No doubt everyone has heard about the Northwest flight en route to Minneapolis. There are suspicions that the pilots of the A320 that lost radio contact for more than an hour on Wednesday, had fallen asleep. Currently, U.S. federal investigators are studying the flight data recorders on a Northwest Airlines jet to determine what caused its pilots to fly 240 kilometres past the plane's destination as air traffic controllers, other pilots and a flight attendant in the cabin tried to get their attention.

This tragic and frightening event draws to attention 2 very important features in IYP:

It's Your Plane keeps a COMPLETE Cockpit Voice Recorder transcript form gate-to-gate... not just the last 30-minutes!
As you are approaching the destination airport, Michelle (and Mike too) is "zapped" by a special Electric Wakeup Device (aka EWD) built into her seat to invoke her to say...
- "We should be starting our descent now!"
